This VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage is a wonderful qualification. It’s designed to teach a complete beginner the skills to work up to a  professional standard in Classical and Swedish Style Techniques.

After successful completion of this course, you will hold a Professional Massage qualification and will be able to gain insurance to practice as a therapist in a variety of environments such as:

  • Your own private practice working as a Self-Employed Practitioner

  • In a salon

  • Spa setting, health club or hotel

  • In the NHS or other healthcare setting.

What we will cover in the course:

  • The effects and benefits of Massage

  • Possible side effects and lifestyle advice

  • Cautions during treatment

  • Contraindications to massage

  • Preparation of the therapist

  • Preparing your Treatment room

  • Anatomy & Physiology covering the 12 systems

  • Massage Techniques such as Effleurage, Petrissage, Friction, Hacking and Tapping

  • Massage Oils for use during a treatment

  • Preparing your client and medical form procedure

  • The complete Massage therapy treatment including:

  • Full body massage sequence including back, legs, abdominal massage, arms, shoulder & neck and facial massage

  • Hygiene procedures

  • Treatment evaluation with your client.

  • Assessment techniques – initial treatment, on-going after care and advice

  • Professional Ethics

  • Business Conduct

  • Building your client base

  • Running a Holistic Massage Practice

  • Self Care and Reflective Practice

How will you be assessed?

  • An internal body massage theory test

  • Practical massage assessments

  • 2 x multiple choice Anatomy & Physiology exams

Do I have to do any work outside of class time?

  • Case studies - 30 treatments

  • Assignments and home study

Course Structure and Fees

  • Unit UV31300 Provide Massage - £950

  • Unit UV31299 Anatomy & Physiology - £300

  • Unit UV31267 Business Practice - £50

  • Unit UV31268 Principles & Practices of Complementary Therapies - £30

  • If you have completed any of the above VTCT units within the last 3 years, you will not have to include these.

There is also a VTCT course registration fee of £104 to be paid.

Pre-requisites

You will need to hold a Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology or complete the Anatomy unit.

Course Requirements: Student must be aged 18 years plus. A good level of English is required for the course.
